Lisa is the author of 11 published novels, as well as numerous short stories, flash fiction and poetry. She loves featuring quirky characters in sticky situations and her fiction spans mysteries, suspense, speculative fiction, magical realism, domestic thrillers and noir hardboiled thrillers. Writing romance is on her wish list.
Lisa lives in Toronto in an area known as The Beach or The Beaches (there’s a lot of rivalry about this!) Being a relative newcomer and having lived only lived there for a mere seventeen years, Lisa calls it the Beaches, incurring the wrath of the stalwarts. However, since there are beaches plural, it makes sense, right?
Lisa’s passions include training in martial arts (while fervently praying that her body won’t give out at any moment), playing classical guitar, hanging out with her little cat and reading or writing a new book.
She grew up on a farm in South Africa, so she’s a country girl by heart but does love the neon of a big city. In her day job, she’s an art director and has worked for Vogue Australia, marie claire, Cosmopolitan and Hello! Canada.
She’s part of a collective, The Mesdames of Mayhem, and has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Philosophy and has lived in the U.S.A., Australia, and Britain. She’s lived in Canada since 2000 and, despite the long winters, loves it greatly.
Her first book with Windtree Press will be releasing in Early 2024.
